Skiing Part 3

Kids, if you are hurtling down the mountain at top speeds, don't use a tree to stop yourself.

Skiing Part 2

The first time I went skiing in grade... um.. 6(?)(school thing) Thomas told me that if I ever lost control and couldn't stop, I should just fall over.

Skiing Part 1

A few years ago Thomas and our cousin Mark moved to BC to work in the mountains during the ski season. Patricia, Clint and I went up to visit them for a few days.
I'm about as graceful as a moose when I'm just standing on my own feet, so I passed on the opportunity to ski down a mountain. Which was both smart and a shame, because some funny stuff came from it.

Apple Core! Who's it for?

This was our old Toyota, which we called The Toaster because of it's resemblance to a toaster on wheels. By the end, it was mostly held together with duct tape and determination. This is the van we managed to shove all nine of us in for church and three hour trips to the lake. The Toaster was all kinds of awesome.

ALL THE TIME!

This is actually getting better now that people know what I am capable of with my art. I mean, I still get mistaken for my siblings, but now (sometimes) I actually am the person they are looking for!

Scaredy Cats Downstairs, UNO Upstairs

Thomas was taking advantage of the poor lighting by mixing his green cards in with the blue ones.

Scary Things

He then went and watched Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium to prevent nightmares.

C'mon In!

No seriously, that spider was huge! I could hear it's feet as it walked along the ceiling!
This was up at the lake a couple years ago. Poor Olie was terrified of thunder and shivered the entire time through the storm, refusing to leave the room and shook the entire bed while progressively sitting closer and closer to Erin until she was on her lap.
And that's just how Oliver sleeps every night.

Toasting

We had our little GEO Metro for a long time. Colleen had bought it used, and we bought it from Colleen, and had it for many years. The thing was a tank. It had battle scars man! But it got rear ended by a motorcycle in its old age and the undercarriage got damaged. We sold it to someone who had plans to build it back up. But John, being very sentimental, wanted to give it a proper farewell. Unfortunately, John doesn't drink.

Beware of Squirrel's Throwing Fungi

As told to me by Erin. The squirrel went into the forest, found the biggest mushroom it could and threw it at James. We are quite content to let the foxes be since they keep the mice and squirrel population down. And we constantly remind ourselves that they are wild animals and should be left alone no matter how fluffy and adorable they are. But they are fluffy and adorable. The squirrel can take a hike.

Meanwhile Downstairs...

And then she went back to sleep. I forget why she was going to punch Patricia.

Midnight Serenade

Erin and I shared a room until the older sisters started to move out. We talked a lot when we were supposed to be sleeping. One night I was complaining to Erin about the music the boys in my elementary school listened to before class started. Erin misheard what I was saying and thus the instant classic "Fat Man In Outer Space" was born. The first person to hear it was Mom, although she wasn't supposed to. Whoops.
