Driving Against the Wind

Alternatively, if you get the wind behind you the car will use less gas and you can halve the time of your trip!

What can I say except, Thank You.

It's All About Me

Olie didn't like strangers, but this was the first time it occurred to her that people IN the house could give her lot's of attention.

Aspiring Life Goals

In actuality, he was probably making the connection that when your an adult, you can buy whatever sugar coated cereal you want.

Game Changer

Babies work so hard to grow those teeth, they gotta try them out on something! Or anything. Or everything.

Strike Me Down and I Only Become Stronger

I may be used to my siblings bursting out in song, but it doesn't make it any less annoying when I'm doing something else. And they KNOW that.

Safety and Wildlife

Remember to pay attention to your surroundings! The sign was tucked in among the branches, but they were also next to a power line. Messing with a squirrel ain't worth getting hurt or killed.

Spooky Summer Nights

I don't like actual horror movies or books. Too scary, and my imagination is over active enough as it is, thanks. Erin doesn't like them at all.

Second Youngest Reflexes

Don't hit!
Being the second youngest means you are always playing both offence and defence.
(and being Canadian means neither "offense" or "offence" looks right to you...)

Farm School

The U of S is one of the biggest Universities in Canada....because we cheated and put farm land in the middle of it. mwahahahaha

Monkey See...

His sister does this too.
People always go "oh!" when they see how I hold a pencil. I'm not entirely sure of the right way to hold a pencil, but I assume it must allow for some sort of stress relief for the wrist.

If wishes were fishes...

It didn't work when the first nephew tried, it's not gonna work with the rest.

Sunburns

Remember to put on sunscreen as the weather gets warmer out! Remember to use at least SPF30, and drink lots of water and to shelter in the shade occasionally to prevent heat stroke. And Noxzema is good for preventing sunburned skin from pealing.

Keeping Clean.....Looking.

Don't wear bright clothing to a park with toddlers if you don't want your clothes dirty.

Pass It On

I don't remember who has the shirt now.

If you're wondering why this comic looks a bit different, it's because I drew it directly on my computer, rather than penciling and inking on paper first like I usually do. So I'm still trying to figure out which pen size in the program is the closest to my real pen.
I threw my back out this past week so bad I had to go see a chiropractor. So while it still hurts, it's hard to draw the way I used to in my sketchbooks, but I can still work with my tablet well enough. Hopefully I'll have this figured out soonish. In the meantime, please bear with me.

Stupid Shoes

"I can't wear shoes, because they make me fall down."
-The Bird Cage
But seriously, I hate high heels.

The Cross reminds us of many things, really...

For you non-church-goers, this happens during the Good Friday Liturgy. We don't break out a giant wooden Cross every Mass...

Brokenlingual

Oliver takes French at school. I took Core French in grade 9 and have forgotten most of it by now. I'm dreading the day Oliver realizes (or remembers) that I don't know a lot of French.
And if you don't know what Withdrawn Library books are: Books that do not circulate often, or have been worn down and damaged are sometimes taken out of the Library system and patrons can purchase them. Pricing is often something very reasonable, like 25cents per book or some sort of deal if you buy a bunch at once.
You can find some real gems. I remember at the SaskExpo last year, a very excited person saw a Manga book on the withdraw table the library had set up. He had such a look of awe on his face when he saw the book, and more so when he was told he could have it for free. Obviously he had been searching for this book for a long time.
Personally I find a lot of unique and fun kids books for the nephews and nieces. It's gotten to the point that when they see me, they'll ask if I have any books for them.

Easter Egg Painting

Happy Easter my friends and relations!
John never got too far in Easter Egg decorating. It was usually one coat of food colouring and then eat the hard boiled egg.

A clever ploy, indeed. Going with Nana to McDonald's is a special treat.

Rainy Days

Of course it start to get old if it just rains all the time or if it's just grey and doesn't rain. Everything in moderation I guess.

Just Right!

Squirmy kids are really hard to hold. But once they find a comfortable position they can stay like that for a whole 5 minutes! I don't know what it is about Chris' head that toddlers seem to love.

His name is buttons!

These are two of the other kids my mom used to babysit. Brooklyn and Kyle. Brooklyn's favourite toy to play with while she was over was one of my stuffed animals, a Beanie Buddy named Bows. Which I promptly renamed as Buttons.
Her other favourite thing was Kyle. Kyle did not share the sentiment.

I Do Believe in Faeries, I do, I do.

Then we'd spend recess looking for chocolate gold coins and getting questioned by the older kids as to why we thought there would be an Irish Leprechaun running around the Canadian Prairies. To which my reply was, maybe he's visiting some relatives here.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Edgar speaks

The two Bald Eagles at the Forestry Farm have been there for a long time. So I imagine their conversations have gotten a little grating.

Compliment or Insult?

After I said "yes", she proceeded to call out my Grandma's name and look around the waiting room. Which I thought, ok, she probably didn't hear me, but where did she think my Grandma went? Fortunately another nurse told her my Grandma was already called in and being seen.

Puppy Teeth

I knew that puppies went through teething, I just didn't make the connection that their baby teeth would fall out.

Dinner Attire

If you are unfamiliar with the 90's version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they loved pizza. (I think that's still there thing, but I haven't been keeping up)
Also Sonic the Hedgehog clothing means chili dogs.
